Warning - especially for those who are not tech savvy

I just had a phone call from someone (he said where he was from but I couldn't catch it even though he said it twice) who said that he had been getting error messages from my computer and could I please switch on my computer so that he could have a look and ascertain what viruses I had.
My reply - I DON'T THINK SO!!!
And he hung up.
