The good news is that Jesus didn't stay dead. The Gospel of John gives us an account of Christ's resurrection in chapter 20. And this is not just a good story made up so that we can have a huge public holiday and eat lots of chocolate - it is a scientifically proven event in history - the most important event in history.
Because Jesus came back to life, he conquered death and makes it so that we can enjoy eternal life with our sins forgiven - all of them, forever! YAY!
