Have you ever been to a craft day or a scrapbooking day, or whatever and found, when you got there, that you had left some significant bit or piece at home? Yes I have, many a time! But none as bad as yesterday!
I did something unusual - I took ALL my paper, ALL my alphabets, ALL my stickers, ALL my rub-ons and ALL scraps so that I didn't have to know exactly what I was going to do. I did have an idea, though, and took appropriate photos and pictures for inspiration.
Caitlin had a plan too. She threw in a few extra things to the stash and we left - somewhat in a hurry. As we were driving away from the house I asked if my flat pack (the significant thing) was in the car. I was assured that it was.
HA! Well it wasn't. That's all my tools, adhesives, pens.. Nor were the few extra things that Caitlin wanted in the car.
Susannah was all set with her drawing book and pencils while Caitlin and I fiddle-faddled around until Douglas saved the day.
As an aside... Have you ever had something stinky, rotten, decomposing, foul in your garbage bin? Something that WHOOFS and it's still 5 days till garbage collection?! We did. Phew.
Douglas dealth with that in the same trip, so all was not lost. :)
Hennyway. Let's get back to the point.
Here are Caitlin's layouts from yesterday.
And here are mine.
This one is totally and utterly scraplifted from Kerry Lynn who I just happed upon when checking out the Kenner Road Kits.
And this one is my interpretation of Challenge 117 at Scrapping the Music.
The layout was sitting on my desk and I said to DH "I don't think it is finished. It needs something," and Declan off-handedly said "Star" as he left the room. And it just so happened that I had a star that came from the same set of stickers as the title! So there you go.
